April 23rd Dr Visit

Well we have made a couple of visits to the labor room this week as Michelle has started having the real contractions now, they are no longer the braxton hick (false contractions). On Sat. night April 19th we spent about six hours in the labor room with Michelle as she started having contractions 8-10 minutes apart. They monitored her contractions for about 5-6 hours, she has dialated to one centimeter and the doctor ordered the nurse to give her a shot to stop the contractions. They monitored an hour longer and gave her another shot to stop her contractions and finally it slowed them down.

On Monday April 21st she called me at work and was having contractions again and I picked her up and took her back to the hospital and they monitored her another two hours, said she had not dialated any more and sent her home.

Today was her regular weekly doctor visit and he told her he is going to take them on May 19th if she has not dialated any more or went into labor. He gave her the pills for the shots she was given on Saturday to stop contractions to take to hold her off until after next Monday then he will let her off them and see how long goes before going into labor. He would like to see her go to 37 week which will be May 20th, but he said after next monday it is safe for her to have them and prevent the babies having to be sent to Oklahoma City Hospital. He did a ultrasound on her and Baby "A" is still head down and will be the first baby born. Baby "B" however has turned since the last ultrasound and is no longer head down, so doctor will have to do a C-Section birth on Michelle unless Baby "B" turns again. Right now doctor said babies are very close if not over 5 lbs each now. He cannot be exact until they do another ultrasound at the hospital which he don't think she needs right now.

Michelle is so ready for these babies to be born as she is a very miserable gal. She cannot sleep at all as she cannot get comfortable whatsoever. She was in hopes the doctor would think it was safe for her to get this over with, but not too happy after her doctor visit with the outcome. She does not think she can make it much longer! OH WELL!

Keep checking the blog as I will be doing more updats as Michelle and Babies progress!

Michelle's Dr Visit

Everything is good with the babies and mommy. Baby "A" is 4 lbs & 1 oz and Baby "B" is 3 lbs and 15 ozs. It is easy to see at this time that these two babies are going to be an easy 5 lbs at birth. They have another 3 to 4 weeks to grow. This last month they gained a pound and a half each. We are so pleased with their progress and know they are very healthy little angels. They both have hair on their heads and look quite a bit alike in the ultrasound pictures. Maybe they are identical? We are not sure yet, but they have the same features.

Grandma "B"
